Instructions

  1. Melt Phase A Ingredients: In a double boiler over low heat, combine 50g mango butter, 25g coconut oil, and 20g shea butter (Phase A). Stir gently until fully melted and blended (70–80°C). If using a microwave, heat in 20-second intervals, stirring between, until melted.
  2. Add Phase B and C Ingredients: Remove from heat and cool slightly to ~50–60°C. Stir in 4g sweet almond oil (Phase B). Cool further to ~40°C, then add 0.5g vitamin E oil and, if using, 0.5g essential oil (10–12 drops for a light fragrance, Phase C).
  3. Cool and Whip: Allow the mixture to cool slightly (10–15 minutes) until it begins to thicken but is not fully solid. Transfer to a mixing bowl and whip with a hand mixer or whisk for 5–7 minutes until light and fluffy Can be also cooled in fridge but it needs to be whipped carefully before it melts or becomes grainy.
  4. Store: Spoon the whipped body butter into a clean, sterilized jar (100–120ml capacity). Seal tightly and store in a cool, dry place. For a firmer texture, refrigerate for 20 minutes after whipping.
  5. Usage: Apply a small amount to clean, dry skin, massaging gently until absorbed. Use daily or as needed for soft, hydrated skin.
  • This butter (mostly due to shea butter) can become grainy or melt due to temperature changes. If leaving in very hot areas the grams of Shea butter should be increased and decreased in colder areas/periods of the year. See this video for more How to fix grainy body butter
