Comments

When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized hash of your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you're using it. The Gravatar privacy policy is here: automattic.com/privacy.

Media

If you upload images to the website, avoid including location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can extract that data from images on the site.

Cookies

If you leave a comment, you can opt-in to save your name, email, and website in cookies. These last for one year for your convenience.

If you visit our login page, a temporary cookie checks if your browser accepts cookies and is deleted when you close the browser.

When you log in, cookies save your login and screen display settings. Login cookies last 2 days; screen cookies last a year. Selecting "Remember Me" keeps login for 2 weeks. Logging out removes cookies.

Editing or publishing a post adds a cookie with the post ID. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles). Embedded content behaves as if the user visited that external website.

If you leave a comment, the comment and metadata are stored indefinitely. This lets us auto-approve future follow-up comments.

For registered users, we store personal data provided in their profiles. Users can view, edit, or delete their personal info anytime (except usernames). Admins can also manage that data.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account or left comments, you can request an exported file of your data, or request we erase it. This excludes data kept for legal or security reasons.
